Second Valid
Passport
You are using this process if
you want or need a second valid passport. A second valid
passport may be needed in certain situation. In many case,
TWO passports are BOTH valid and may be
needed. The issuance of a second valid passport is limited
in time, valid for an initial period of two years.
NOTE: Current
regulations reflect the long-standing of the Department of
State that no person should be in possession of more than
one valid, or potentially valid, U.S. passport at any time
unless specially authorized by the Department of State. The
issuance of a second valid passport should be considered an
exception to the regulations, and is to be approved on an
individual basis only where justified.
If you meet these
qualifications, please following the instructions carefully
to obtain your SECOND VALID PASSPORT.

Preparation of Your Passport Application

4) A written request for the reason why a Second Valid
Passport is needed
Please include a letter addressed to the Passport Agency
containing the reason you need a second valid passport.
Please sign your letter and provide your date of birth next
to your signature.
5)
Name Change Document (if applicable)
If the name you are currently using differs from the name on
your previous passport, please submit ORIGINAL or
CERTIFIED COPY of the document showing the change of
name.

- Court order documents
The name change document
MUST bear the official seal of the issuing authority.
Uncertified copies or notarized documents are NOT
ACCEPTED. All documents will be returned to you with
your passport.

of State” with Date of Birth.

Return Shipping Fee
To receive your passport for overnight return delivery, please
add $69.00 (or $89.00 for Saturday delivery) to your
check/money order or credit card payment to Passport Depot, or you
may include your own Airbill with your FedEx Account number.

Quick
Checklist and Prepare Your Package for Shipping
You must establish your identity to the Passport Acceptance
Agent. Please inform the Passport Acceptance Agent you are
using an expediting service to "hand carry" your application
to the government passport agency for processing. After
signing the application in front of the Passport Acceptance
Agent, the PAA should seal-up the following items in their
envelope:

REJECTED IF SENT BY ANY OTHER SERVICE.
(US Postal Mail, DHL, Airborne Express and/or other major
shipping carriers’ envelopes/packaging are NOT ACCEPTED.
If so, your application will NOT be shipped appropriately
and can ultimately result in delay and/or loss of your
application materials).
